In 2015 the Madibaz High Performance Complex was opened at the Nelson Mandela University. This dynamic facility encompasses the Madibaz sporting precinct and both the Human Movement Science and Dietetics department, with a rehabilitation and high-performance centre providing services and learning opportunities for both the student and athlete.

Situated on South Campus, the Madibaz HPC is the only high-performance centre in the Eastern Cape to have a 90-m indoor track, equipped with force plates and an 3-D opto-electric VICON video analysis system. At the Madibaz HPC, we focus on performance improvement and innovation to push our athletes to the next level, with laboratories designated in testing and training the athletes biomechanics, physiology and perceptual skills.

The Central Hub of the Madibaz HPC services is located at the Department of Human Movement Science and includes an on-site physiotherapist and is the training base for the Eastern Cape Academy of Sport. More information regarding all the facilities at the Madibaz HPC  click here.
